- Your 2 year old keeps throwing things, kicking, pushing the soft spot, yelling, pushing down, biting, stealing toys, etc. etc (with your 9 month old)?
- You send your 2 year old to time out and he laughs at you no matter how mad you get at him!
- Your 9 month old thinks naps are not for him and does everything he possibly can to stay awake every moment of the day?
- Your 9 month old likes to wake up 3 or 4 times a night.....still?
- Your 2 year old takes a 5 minute nap during the day and stays up till 10 pm?
- You are trying your best to keep your 2 year old from watching tv during the day.
- Your 2 year old wakes up EVERY SINGLE night and cries in his bed until he gets to go in mama's bed.
- You are so exhausted you can hardly function, you are getting depressed and want your own mommy to come see you...NOW!
- You get a gym pass to help with some of the stress but you can't go because you are too busy wiping your kids noses every minute of the day.
- You get to share a car with your husband for 5 years of marriage and you just can't take it anymore.
- That sweet husband of yours reminds you that with all the stress you feel in your life it cannot even compare to what horrible things other people go through, especially people in Haiti right now.
- You know he's right but you still want to have a pity party for yourself sometimes:)
These are a few of the fun things we have been doing at our house for the past 3 weeks. I guess this sounds really negative but I still manage to smile and have hope that it will be better tomorrow!

Oh Val, I'm sure every other mom like me is reading this and shaking their head in agreement with you! It is so hard sometimes. But you can do it. Doesn't mean its fun every time, but you can do it!! Good luck. I hope you have a better day tomorrow! If it helps Hannah is 3 1/2 and still gets up every night at least twice but usually 3 or 4 times. And I finally resulted to only 2 hours of T.V. I couldn't handle no T.V. Big sigh ahhhhh! Maybe we will see you guys in Disneyland we leave Feb. 26th. I am counting down the days til sunshine and a husband that's around more!
I'm Sorry. Being a mom is the most exhausting job in the world!!
Time outs didn't work with Hunter either. In fact, almost nothing did. Until I started using vinegar. I put vinegar in a squirt bottle and when he's "really naughty" I spray it into his mouth. He hates it like crazy, but it works.
Keep your head up. It will all get easier with time. Luvya!!
Oh dear. I'm so sorry! I have no mommy advice. But know that I love you and think of you always! You are an incredible mom, wife, and friend. If I didn't have to teach school, I would drop everything and come give you a break! Love you tons! :
Oh my gosh Val! Can we please hang out more?!?! I think I just said some of those things word for word to Jordan just a few hours ago!
I think we definitely need to make that talk of a girls trip more of a reality!
oh val i'm so sorry! i dont have any mommy advice either but if it helps i think you are an incredible mom! your kids are the cutest and you are awesome. wish we could come down there and help out!
Hang in there...It really does get better. You are a great mom. someday you will look back at this time, and laugh at some of this. Until then, keep your head up. The payback will come when they have kids of their own that do the same things. Love ya!
I know all moms are saying,"yes, that is my life story" Hey, at least your not alone. And there isn't a job in this world more challenging. I can't imagine doing with out my family down the street. Oh Val, hang in there. I wish there was more I could say or do but I will for sure put you in my prayers because I think as moms we need all the help we can get ;)
We went through that same thing with Micah. He didn't sleep through the night until he was about 9 months old. What we did to teach him was to go in there with a drink of water or milk, and lay on the floor next to him and hold his hand until he fell asleep again. It took a little while, but he eventually learned that he wasn't going to be getting out of bed just because he was screaming. Good luck!
You try and go to the gym but get kicked out because your kid is blowing snot all over the other kids...
Hang in there, Love ya!
Love you... you can always call me... I will listen!
